When Albert and Dulia Roes first saw a cordwood house they knew that they wanted to build one. Albert did everything he could to learn about this well proven but relatively unknown building technology. He helped others build their homes and learned a lot about cordwood construction. In 1994, they built their own home for about 1/3 of the cost of traditional homes and it is beautiful and everything they hoped for. Albert and Dulia have found a way to get off the grid and out of the box. They are forerunners and this is their story.
